My Top 10 Facebook Status Messages in 2010
My cousin Jen turned me on to this Facebook App that automates my Top 10 Facebook Status Messages of 2010. Some good memories here, even if I don’t know what algorithm the app creators used to generate the list. It’s a bit more personal than I usually share, because my Facebook is a bit more personal! All in all, they picked some real winners:
- You can automate data collection and visualization, but you can’t automate analysis and insight. I don’t remember where this thought came from – I’m sure it had to do with social media monitoring tools and their capabilities.
- Hoping for smooth travels back to the States tomorrow… keeping my fingers and toes crossed! I can’t remember if this status message was associated with Australia or Canada. Going through customs to leave Canada is kind of anticlimactic.
- Five Buis + Nissan Versa + Pile of Presents = Spatial Miracle We somehow managed to stuff all five of us, luggage AND lots of Christmas presents in a tiny hatchback. There were a lot of presents because there were a lot of us – eight total Buis plus a Brother-In-Law.
- I love logic and common sense – an unbeatable combination Another top status message that I have no idea of its origin.
- Loved being home in Boulder, now it’s off to Australia… see you down under! I think I came home to Boulder for less than a week before heading out to Australia for nearly a month. When I lived in Boulder, I didn’t spend nearly enough time there. Sadface. Though whenever I was in Boulder, I definitely rocked the happyface!
- Congrats to Justin Olsen and the US Men’s Bobsled team for winning the gold… who knew San Antonio could grow a gold medalist for a winter sport?! Justin went to school with my younger brother. Here’s pretty typical winter weather for San Antonio:
- If you’re going to say something negative, it should at least be logically reasoned. Supporting facts, not personal (or cultural) attacks, since 1982. I don’t remember what inspired this post, but do have to say… ad hominem attacks are NOT cool. Not at all.
- Grammar and correct spelling are always in! True fact. Everyone should own (and use!) a copy of Strunk and White’s Elements of Style.
- Spending the whole day with Ken Moyle – Getting my nerdy on with Online Identity, Authentication and Legality of e-Signatures! During NARdi Gras, I got to follow around DocuSign’s Chief Legal Officer and hear him speak about the law and public policy behind electronic signatures. 2010 was a great year to be personally and intellectually excited and turned on by what I’m doing professionally!!
- My bags are packed, I’m ready to go. I’m standing here outside your door – I hate to wake you up to say goodbye… BWI to SEA I remember feeling elegiac, thinking about flying from DC to Seattle for one business trip directly into the next, without getting a chance to darken my doorstep in Boulder. I saw the writing on the wall: An would shortly move to Seattle for the next phase of her adventure… and while I looked forward to moving to Seattle, I also knew I’d miss Boulder. Shortly after this trip to Seattle, I packed my place in Boulder, gave my roommate a hug, deep cleaned my room, the bathroom and kitchen and moved back to Seattle.

2010. A year of growth, change and family. I traveled, I adventured and I grew personally and professionally – for the people and experiences in my life that enabled me to be who I am today, thank you. Thank you and happy holidays!
xoxo,
An
